Towry offers expertise and support to local businesses
Lee Ramsden, a Liverpool-based wealth adviser at Towry, has been seconded to SkillShare to support a project that teams up local charities with businesses to help create more efficient, successful and sustainable organisations.
Assisted by South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce and Community & Voluntary Services Cheshire East (CVS), the SkillShare project promotes local, skilled volunteering. It matches local business people who are willing to volunteer their skills with suitable charities and community groups that require their services.
Lee will help to roll out the project across the South Cheshire region, encouraging more businesses to participate and setting up introductions to suitable charities. Part of his role includes a review of each charities' business plan to prioritise their financial objectives and ensure the business partner delivers the right skills.
Lee Ramsden comments:
"I have been involved with fundraising in the past, but I feel that this project can make a real difference to each charity with whom I work by raising their profile and helping them build bridges with the business community. It is an enriching experience that enables me to use my professional skills in a different context."
Caroline O'Brien, Chief Officer, CVS, agrees:
"The SkillShare project gives businesses a chance to give back to the communities in which they work, and provides voluntary and community organisations with limited resources with the tools needed to further their cause. Apart from benefiting the communities, it also makes business sense for Towry to be involved – volunteering motivates staff, develops skills and builds relationships with the local community."
Andrew Fisher, Chief Executive, Towry, added:
"Towry's involvement in the SkillShare initiative is part of Towry's ongoing effort to give back to the communities in which we work. Lee Ramsden is one of many employees across our 21 offices in the UK who are active in charitable initiatives ranging from one-off fundraising events to longer term programmes such as partnering with BTCV and the National Reading and Numeracy programme."
