Towry, the Wealth Advisers, raise £700 for Macmillan Cancer Support

On Friday, Towry, the Wealth Advisers, held a fundraising event where over 250 employees from their head office in Bracknell provided, sold or enjoyed home baked cakes to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event is part of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning fund-raiser.  The first National World’s Biggest Coffee Morning was in 1991, when 2,600 people registered to hold coffee mornings across the country.  Since then the event has raised over £60 million for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The coffee morning was organised by Towry employee Claire Borley, whose mother-in-law, Valerie, received care from Macmillan nurses whilst she battled with ovarian cancer.  Valerie sadly passed away in February 2010, but Claire continues to raise money for Macmillan.

Andrew Fisher, Chief Executive, commented:

"Cancer affects so many of us and so I am delighted that we have supported Macmillan. Well done to Claire and all our employee volunteers – both bakers and consumers - for, raising over £700 for Macmillan."
